A big Texas welcome to Kimberly Frost who is giving away a copy of her book to one lucky poster today. Guys, I haven't read it yet, but I bought this book because I've heard so much praise about it. So make sure you post a comment. Take it away Kimber!

Since childhood, the Would-Be Witch heroine of my Southern Witch series, Tammy Jo, has been told that she is not supposed to fraternize with anyone named Lyons. Unfortunately, the black-haired, blue-eyed wizard, Bryn Lyons, is the only person in town she can turn to for advice.
Here’s an abridged scene between Tammy Jo & Bryn:

“You’re wet and cold. I wouldn’t want you to catch pneumonia,” Bryn said, reaching for me again.
I slapped his hands away and stepped back. “Just a darn minute. Last I checked I could dress and undress myself.”
“Sure, but wouldn’t you be warmer if I helped?”
My jaw dropped open. I was in the middle of a crisis with people in a fever-coma. I was counting on Bryn Lyons to be my savior, not some normal red-blooded guy who noticed that frostbite had my nipples hard as arrowheads.
“Look, I’m in trouble.”
“Clearly.”
“And I didn’t come here for you to put your Urban Cowboy moves on me.”
He grinned and folded his arms across his chest. “Tamara—”
“It’s still Tammy Jo!” I snapped and pointed to the door. “Out.”
“Is this your house?” he asked with mock curiosity.
I scowled at him, which made him smile.
“I’ll be in the hall. Call me if there are any spots you can’t reach.”
I flicked him with the towel as he left.
There was no lock on the door, so the Indy 500 pit crews had nothing on me as I stripped. I wrapped myself in his plush monogrammed bathrobe and tossed my wet clothes in the oversized dryer. I pulled on the socks, feeling very vulnerable.
Outside, I found Bryn leaning against the wall waiting for me.
“You’re a lawyer, right?”
“Is this a trick question?”
“I need to hire you.”
“All right.” His eyes roamed over me from head to toe. “What would you like to give me as a retainer?”
About all I had left was tumbling on the high heat cycle, and somehow I had a feeling my bra and panty set wasn’t what Bryn had in mind since I wasn’t in them anymore.
“We’ll have to sort that out later.”
“Sounds promising.”
“Hey! I have a real problem here. Stop giving me the Sylvester the Cat look. I’m not Tweety. I need serious help.”
“I’m listening. Unlike some of the men in your life, my intelligence doesn’t disappear in the face of non-cognitive pursuits.”
I cocked my head.
“I can lust and think at the same time. Tell me your problem.”
I spilled the story.
“You need a counterspell,” he said.
“I don’t know one. And I’m afraid if I make one up, it’ll go wrong.”
“That’s a reasonable fear.”

In the comments section, please answer one OR both of the following questions for a chance to win an autographed copy of Would-Be Witch:

1.) Have you ever dated a guy your family disapproved of? If so, how did it turn out?

2.) If you could cast a magic spell, what would it be and why?

Welcome to K.F.! Your book sounds great!

As for the questions:
1. No, My parents approved of the guy more than I did. It didn't end well.

2. If I could cast a magic spell, it would be to keep my car running in these Michigan winters. It's not really fun to walk miles to work when its 10 degrees with a windchill.

1) My whole family hated my first real boyfriend. In the end the scales fell from my eyes and I dumped him :)

2) If I could cast a magic spell I'd be able to blink myself places - I'd love to be able to avoid air travel!

Great excerpt - your book sounds great, Kimberly!

Good morning, guys & Happy Saturday!

I'm checking in remotely from California, where the past few days' weather has been beautiful!

RF - Where in Michigan are you? I grew up in MI and migrated to Tx because I hated the cold!

JM - I'm with you. I feel like a sardine on a lot of flights these days. We're all packed in that silver box... LOL Well, it beats weeks on a ship, I guess, but the Bewitched form of travel would definitely be better. :)

This book sounds SO fun!!!

If I could cast a magic spell, I think I'd want one that would solve at least some of my health problems. Better yet, all of them! *g*

For my magic spell - everyone would "just get along" - you have to have a sense of humor.

My mother's first comment about my first real boyfriend (and future husband) was he's too short lol. We're close to the same size although he says he's an inch taller lol. I got married at 18 and he was 20 - although it hasn't always been smooth sailing, we've been married almost 40 years.

LOL, what a small world! I'm originally from Grand Rapids, but currently in Midland. Funny thing, I moved to Dallas, TX but moved back to Michigan because Texas got too hot. 93 degrees in February when you're used to 15 isn't fun either. I guess there isn't a happy medium when it comes to weather and places to live.

Great post Kimberly, I have heard a lot about this book and I do so want it! Pick me!

1. Yes I have dated a guy that my parents didn't approve of and it ended very badly.

2. If I could cast a spell it would be for me to loose weight. It would be a spell where I wouldn't crave food or all the foods that are bad for you.

I liked the excerpt (and the cover!).

If I could cast a magic spell, it would have to be...a spell that gives us more room in our apartment. It would be bigger on the inside than the outside. Haha, that would come in handy! ^_^

When I was a little girl, I wished it would only rain at night and be sunny everyday. I still want that wish!

I dated a couple guys my parents didn't approve of, but they were more of a few dates types of guys and nothing long term.

Fun excerpt, I've been your book 'round on the net!

I dated a guy with tattoos and a little sports car just to irk the parents. He didn't last long after I got tired of monosyllabic conversations.

I would love a glamour spell for date nights with my husband.

Your book sounds great. I cant wait to read it.

1 - Yes. It didnt end well.
2 - It would be to locate and only locate the perfect guy.

1. Not until after I married and then divorced him - then I found out just how much my family didn't like him lol.
2. If I could cast a magic spell it would be to spend one day with my father as an adult. He passed away when I was 6 and I could use a lot of his advice today - many, many years later!

I dated several guys my family disapproved of. Even married one and then divorced him 13 years later.

For the first half of my dating life all I dated were guys my family disapproved of, it was like I had to pick the guys my mom would hate the most. I was such a rebellious bitch. As expected it never ended well, especially not for me.

If I could cast a magic spell it would be for lots of money right now to fix all the things that are broken around her, but of course that's personal gain so I wouldn't get away with it. Would casting a spell to just fix what's broken be considered personal gain? Hmm.

Hey Michigan folks where are you, I am still freezing here in Michigan too, outside of Flint in Mt. Morris.

Where did you grow up Kimberly? I checked your schedule and hate it that I just missed your signing in Taylor on the 7th. Coming back to Michigan for your next release? Come to Flint, no one ever comes here.

I love the spells you guys suggested. I want to cast all of those! :)

It is hard to find a happy medium in terms of weather, but I've heard that the Carolinas are beautiful and somewhat moderate. Not sure if that's true.

I'm originally from the Detroit/downriver area, and that's why I chose to have my Michigan booksigning in Taylor. It's close to where most of my family and childhood friends live. It would have been great to have met you then! The crazy thing was that, to get a book you would've had to arrive early, which is insane. My family and friends started a feeding frenzy that caught up random people who were in the store. All of the 75 copies that the store had ordered were bought in about 1.5 hours. It was surreal, but a lot of fun. Very atypical and I'm sure not what I'll experience at later signings. Maybe that's the spell I'd cast... to have "rock star" book signings for the rest of my career. Except there's that personal gain problem... ;)

I just saw Gemma's post about being pregnant. Congratulations, Gemma!! I'm thinking pink thoughts for you. :)

1. Yes, my father disapproved of most of the guys I dated. Oddly enough, the ones that turned out to be losers he seemed to like. LOL
2. Hmmm, a magic spell .... it would allow me to be in more than one place at a time if I got super busy!

Hello Everyone.

Kimberly Frost, I have Would-Be Witch on my wish/want list. Love the cover and the title. This sounds like it is going to be a very enjoyable read and a winner.

There was this one guy that my dad did not like at all. My mom liked him and of course I did too. I did date the guy for a while but he ended up moving away so it did not end well.

If I could cast a magic spell, I would want to win the lottery *g*

Oh a witch series! Love them!! And neat on the southern theme within! Its great to meet you Kimber!

1. I wasn't allowed to date until I was 18!!! So I had met my hubby in college and they knew how much in love we were and same day we asked each other to marry, that my mom asked me at dinner 'when you two getting married?" LOL. I know that doesn't answer your question!

2. So I'll do better with casting a magic spell! I really wished I could do it to make wall to wall shelves to put my keepers on! But too to keep putting back time when I need to for more reading!

2.) If you could cast a magic spell, what would it be and why?

So many choices! Maybe the confidence to get a job. I'm so anxious about even applying, and I stink at the interview process,... Or maybe I'd cast a spell sorta like Mary Poppins did, clap my hands and my place is clean.
Or Virginia's weight loss spell idea sounds good...

Hi Christie! Hi Kimberly!

I have this book on my wishlist and I've been dying to read it!!

My parents have dissaproved of every boy I've ever dated, except for my fiance. :)

If I could cast a magic spell, I would zap myself skinny and perfect. :)

I know I'm really late commenting but I just wanted to tell you that I loved your book.

I had it on my TBR list and saw it at the bookstore last week and grabbed it.

I thought it was very cute and now I'm torn as to which man I want her to end up with. I'm also looking forward to learning more about her family. Can't wait for the next one.

My parents always disapproved of every guy I dated until my husband. They love him.

I would cast a spell to cure infertility issues so I could have a baby.

Thank you so much for sharing! With so many great comments, I can't possibly choose only one winner!

I'm going to pull two names from a hat-substitute and Christie will post the winners.

Also, Kristi - I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for letting me know. :)

Hugs,
Kimber
