A Holiday Gift for You!

By Robin "Red Hot" Kaye

Happy Holidays to all my friends.

I found out that my first book in my Domestic Gods Series, Romeo, Romeo is available on Kindle and iBooks for free! Here’s the link for Kindle, as for iBooks, I could only pull it up on my iPhone and not my computer but rest assured, it’s there and it’s free! Yay!

I hope that if you haven’t gotten a copy of Romeo, Romeo already, you’ll go right out and download it to your iPhone, Blackberry, Kindle, or your Mac or PC.

To make this an extra special holiday my latest book, the forth in the Domestic Gods Series, Yours for the Taking, is coming out January 1st and has been spotted on the New Release Tables of several booksellers around the country, I’m going to pick one lucky person who comments to win not only a copy of Yours for the Taking, but also a Humpin’ Hannah’s T-Shirt.

I have three Humpin’ Hannah’s T-shirts to choose from. They’re all size Large because I love nothing better than big comfy T-shirts. As a matter of fact, I’m wearing mine as I write.

The colors from left to right are a stonewashed blue, stonewashed violet/purple and navy.

Humpin’ Hannah’s is a very real, very cool bar in Boise, Idaho. It’s my favorite place to hang out when I go home and I missed it so much, I made one of my favorite fictional characters, Karma Kincaid, in Yours for the Taking an employee there. The owner’s of Humpin’ Hannah’s (Darcy, Todd, and Dick) were nice enough to give me permission to take over their bar and play with it in Yours for the Taking and all my future Domestic Gods Gone Wild books.

So Happy Holidays to all, and when you comment, please tell me about your favorite holiday present, and what you wish you’d received.

My favorite gift was a lovely Kindle! The present I wanted but didn’t get? The life-size stand-up of Mark Harmon as Gibbs from NCIS. I’m still debating whether or not to get on the CBS Website and buy him. I want to put my very own Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the corner so that every time I look up from my computer, I have instant inspiration—so much for the dog.

Merry Christmas, Robin, and congrats on your new release. My favorite present was a gift certificate for a massage. Need I say more?

When you bless a man with a name like Leroy Jethro, he's bound to do great things as a result. I WANT one of those T-shirts, preferably with LJ inside it. My favorite gift was time to work on my WIP, the gift I didn't get was a few inches of snow to make the writing go more easily.

Robin, congrats on your new release! My favorite present might sound boring, but I got several warm sweaters. I so needed them!

Gail~ Merry Christmas! I get the massage thing but what do you wish you got?

Grace~ I want one with Gibbs in it too! Aw hell, he can take mine!

Tracy~ Thanks! Warm sweaters are so not boring. I'm knitting a wool hoodie now (well, it's taking me forever because it's seed stitch and cable) and believe me, there's nothing boring about that! I hate being cold and wear heavy sweaters all the time...of course, some of them make me look like the Michelin Man even when I stay away from white, but at least I'm warm!

You are the best - can not wait to get your book to add to my book shelf....

I love Gibbs!! Such "inspiration" for writing!

My niece gave me a Christmas present with "For Inspiration" written on top of the box. When I opened it, it was a metal boot picture frame with Tim McGraw. McGraw is my "stand-in" for the hero of my next WIP. Great present, huh? I already have a HUGE beach towel with Tim on it posted on the wall behind the door (beside my desk) in my office.

Congrats on your new release. Can't wait to read it.

My favorite Christmas present was a Droid X from my parents. LOVE IT!

Hi Robin,
My favorite present was the "Dawn Doll." It's nostalgic, but that doll has made such an impression on me and my two sister's lives that it puts sibling rivalry in a new category. I got it after [they] broke my arm when I was four. [They] thought they killed me. When I came home in my daddy's arms with a big cast on one arm, waving the Dawn Doll in the other, they almost died. We'd been begging for it forever--which is a very long time for three little girls. This year my sister went on Ebay and found three. Now we all have one to wave. My other favorite present was Wi-Fi. When I opened it I asked if it came with a geek to install it. My husband will never even come close to geekdom. Fortunately my brother-in-law is about as geeky as they get and he dropped by the next day.
What I didn't get and really wanted were new pants. I've dropped almost 40 pounds and my clothes are swimming on me. I guess this means I get to go shopping for myself. Ohhh, bummer.

Congratulations on your new release, Robin. I'm going to download Romeo, Romeo to my computer today!

Seiseman-Good luck!

Congrats on yet another release Robin! I remember when you were waiting for your first!! I have 2 fave gifts... One is my new hiking boots and the other is my Harley Davidson bath robe. What I wanted but didn't get was a quiet weekend away with the hubby. :) Hope you and the family are enjoying the holidays!

Merry Christmas Robyn!
I have all your books in this series and I'm anxiously awaiting your new release to add to my collection :)
The best gift I got this year was a gift card to my local bookstore. I told my husband forget about jewelry, give me those gift cards. He's so sweet to enable my addiction to good books.

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

My best Christmas gift was a copy of your book, Romeo, Romeo. My sister saw it on my Amazon wishlist and bought it for me. Complete surprise!! And I'm loving the book!! It hits so close to home as I'm a native Staten Islander living in Jersey. How the heck did you end up in Maryland?? Did you skip over SI and Jersey which is the average Brooklynite route!!

Love your writing!! Can't wait to get my hands on more. Merry Christmas!!

I'll buy you a beer at Humpin' Hannah's the next time we're both in Boise, Robin. Sounds like a fun place.

Got a Kindle for Christmas and I can't wait to start downloading books. (I have Romeo, Romeo in paperback.) This was my favorite gift.

The only thing I didn't get that I asked for was a big bottle of Gold Bond hand moisturizing cream. Lol. I try to list inexpensive stuff on my Christmas Wish List to make it easy on my kids. I filled that wish myself December 26, so I'm all set.

Have a fantastic New Year!

Best--Adele

Robin,

Congrats on your new release. I got the book before Christmas, thanks to Barnes and Noble. Just starting to read it. Really likeing it

My favorite present I got for my birthday on Dec 23rd from my husband was a Nook ereader from B & N. Really love it.

Have a wonderful New Years.

Linda

I too have a crush on Jethro lol. I got a new wireless keyboard and mouse and more RAM for my old computer (a new one was my wish lol).

Your t-shirts remind me of a bar/restaurant that we visited in Arizon called the Horny Toad. I wish we had gotten larger sizes because they no longer fit (sigh).

Congrats on your new release!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Release! My favorite present was my new mini laptop. Now I can write anytime, anywhere! I can't wait to read your latest. I've loved them all!

Well, before I would have liked Denoso's likeness but now, I think I want the guy from Hawaii Five-O, YOU KNOW who I'm talking about. I mean his likeness, lol.

I wouldn't take anything for my print books of yours, but I want one on my computer as well. I'd wish you luck, Robin, but you won't need it. It's sure to be a classic with a setting like HH and Boise.

I'm dying for a HH t-shirt, putting a spell on the randomizer as we, er, comment. My favorite Christmas present, my sweet (bad) Dusty dog two years ago.

Here's to the series going NYT right off!

Congratulations on your new release. My favorite gift was the new printer/scanner/copier that my daughter and son in law bought me. I wish I'd gotten a kindle, but I'll just have to keep saving for one. I love NCIS, that's all I watched Sunday was the marathon.

Terri Osburn said...

Congrats on the new release and large just happens to be my size! I technically haven't gotten my presents yet, so I'll have to report back later. Typically, I buy all my own good presents and since I bought a house this summer, I'm thinking that's going to do until next year. But you never know. LOL!

A free ebook is always cool, though. I'll see if I can add that to my Sony Reader (which I've had, so not a present just received.)

If you find a life-size cut out of Tony, I'd take that.

Hellie Sinclair said...

Hi Robin! I just finished reading your Breakfast in Bed this week and it was wonderful!! I'm loving the Domestic Gods theme. *LOL*

Favorite gift? Well, this year, out of the blue from a professor I work with, I got a replica of Professor Snape's wand from Harry Potter. It was WAY AWESOME and I screamed like a banshee.

Gift I didn't get? Oh, there was a string of holiday mishaps from the time I was like 12-16 that were awful. Like the year my sister had a job in Amway so she gave me a gift catalog and let me pick anything off 14 or 15. (I understand better NOW but at the time, I was annoyed.) Or the year I was 14 and got the Precious Moments Bible. As my ONLY gift. No, thank you. I might have joined the church that year, but I was a secular child--I wanted MUSIC or a MOVIE or anything, even the Amway catalog...

Hellie Sinclair said...

I realize that "gift I didn't get" was a flashback in time--but I don't usually make a lot of gift requests at this point, due to the Amway and Bible situations. If I want it bad enough, I just buy it or do without.

Sorry I've been away. I met a photographer for an article Carroll Magazine (a local magazine) is doing on Romance Writers in the area. The guy was amazing and Eliza Knight and I spent two hours gabbing with him and getting photographed at a local coffee shop. He used to work for People and National Geographic so maybe I'll get a good picture for once that won't highlight all my chins and lack of neck... We'll see!

Harley/Ginny- LOL You do remember me when! The holidays have been great except for the unexpected Christmas Eve gift of the Stomach Flu I received. I guess we now know that I've been more naughty than nice...

Jess~ Merry Christmas! I've been getting reports that Yours for the Taking is out in force so if you don't win, go burn up those bookstore cards!

Monica~ I lived in Staten Island too, and all over NJ, PA, VA, MD, FL and Idaho. Girlfriend, I get around! I was up in Red Hook a few months ago and had the best time! Hung out in the Heights and a delightful bar called or all things The Heights. I can't wait until I can go back! Wish I could move there! I'm so glad you're enjoying Romeo, Romeo. You made my day saying it was your favorite present. Thanks! Aren't wish lists great?

Adele~ Gotta love the Kindle! I'm thrilled with mine! Merry Christmas Reading!

Linda~ Thanks for getting Yours for the Taking and I'm so glad you're enjoying it! I was torn between the Kindle and the Nook, my mother-in-law has the Nook and loves it. She forgot hers here when she visited to see Twinkle Toes Dance The Nutcracker before Christmas. I wanted to play with it so bad before DH sent it back to her, but then book shelves are kind of personal so I didn't. It kind of makes me wonder what my bookshelf says about me...

Catslady - Too bad about the T-Shirts, my mom got me one from a Scottish Pub in Dunedin, FL that says "What's Under Your Kilt?" and it's too tight. I was thinking of giving it to one of my kids but then thought, heck no, I'll make a pillow out of it. I'm selfish that way.

Margaret - Merry Christmas to you too and all the best in the New Year! I'm always so thrilled to hear that people enjoy my books (especially all of them)! Good luck in the Contest!

Marley~ Aw! A dog for Christmas, that's so great! I know the guy you mean on Hawaii Five-oh, very cute and a total inspiration but I'll stick with Gibbs for now. Good luck with the numbers, baby!

Linda~ Thanks so much! I just love those NCIS Marathons too! I got my daughter the NCIS Bert the Farting Hippo for her birthday! It was a huge hit. I want one of those too, but not as badly as I want the standup of Gibbs. Your daughter and Son-in-law sound great, a printer is a fabulous gift!

Terri~ Thanks so much! I'll see if the CBS Store has one of Tony and report back!

MsHellion - LOL Love the name and the bible story. Too funny. Oh and those AMWAY catalogues. I remember those! I'm so glad you liked Breakfast in Bed! I really have a soft spot for Rich and Becca!

Congrats on the upcoming release. I got some gift cards to a department store. I can't wait for all the great sales. I didn't get the coveted Kindle or Nook, but maybe next year.

Robin,
Congratulations on your latest release! I hope you had a fabulous Christmas. My favorite gift was that all of my kids were able to make it home. Nothing better than that. My 2nd favorite, I was gifted a 12" x 12" plot of land from Dunans Castle in Scotland. :) How fun is that?
I wish you a fabulous New Year, may it be your best yet! *Hugs*

Congrats on your new release!

Do we have to pick just one favorite? I can narrow it down to 2. A gift certificate for new shoes and a bracelet from my grandma.

The shoe card is special because it includes a day shopping with my sister who lives on the other side of the state. And the bracelet has been in my grandma's family for years.

Hope you and your family have a Happy New Year!

Danielle~ Merry Christmas! That is a very cool gift!

Jane~ I love shopping with someone else's money! It's definitely the best, especially when you're shopping for you. Have fun hitting those sales!

Diana~ I have to agree, having all the kids home was wonderful. It's getting old here. My ballerina hasn't danced in ten days and she's driving me and everyone else nuts. Going from 40 hours of dance a week to 0 is not healthy for any of us. That's so cool that you got a piece of a castle! I couldn't think of a more perfect gift for you! Merry Christmas and may the New Year be the best yet!

Refhater - Aw what great gifts! I'm wearing the earrings my grandmother gave me years ago. She's gone now and every time I wear them I think of her. Merry Christmas!

Robin,

My best gift was a Henry Miller desk chair. Hubby saw the light when he saw the price tag, but he held on and bought it for me. I love it.

Here's us all having a wonderful New Year.

Great idea to get the bar owners involved and use their t-shirts as giveaways, Robin!

My favorite gift...the Nook color Santa brought. The one I wasn't expecting...Stainless Steel soap!
Yup, I'm curious too. Can't wait to try it out.

Hi everyone!

There were 25 responses, so I put the numbers in the Randomizer and #9 was chosen.

Congratulations Krisgils33!

Contact me through my website and let me know which T-shirt you want and give me your snail mail address. I'll send the book and T-shirt out just as soon as my author copies arrive!
