I've been lax, I know. We're down to six(?) contestants and I haven't yet done my Idol review. I think a lot of that might be because one person is clearly light years above the rest and all the rest are good enough to have won any other season before now. Let's face it, as time goes on, some of the early season finalists wouldn't have made it past the try-outs.
So my prediction is that Crystal Bowersoxs should win the entire thing. If she wins depends totally on whether or not America actually votes for the most talented or the one who seems the nicest or the cutest or the least gay or whatever ridiculous criteria people use to judge a SINGING competition.
I also really like Siobhan and Lee. Furthermore, I do not know why everyone gives Casey such a hard time. He can't help it if he's beautiful and he could be the next Stevie Ray Vaughn. He seems to have the guitar ability to pull it off and the same bluesy sound.
So are you watching? Who are your favs?
And in closing, I'll leave you with a link that I got the biggest kick out of. Apparently, this dude lives with his old, cranky father and started tweeting things his dad says. Well, it's so funny that's he's going to get a book deal out of it.

Crystal is my favorite, then Casey, then Lee. I could care less about the rest. I can't stand Big Mike though.
I'm always amazed that after combing through thousands of contestants, this is the best they could find. And if Crystal doesn't win, then this show is pointless. I realize that has been said about past contestants who didn't win - like Jennifer Hudson, Chris Daughtry - but it's true and I think their eventual success proves it.
That said, the crap they give these kids to do is laughable. Change the arrangement, but don't change it too much. Pick a country song but don't make it sound country. Sing something written in the 1930s but make it sound contemporary.
Why not just put them on one of those stupid Japanese game shows and splat them with something nasty. And then declare the dirtest contestant the best singer.
Wow, I didn't even realize I had that strong an opinion until I read that back. No idea what's gotten into me today. LOL!
Crystal in my favorite, Lee favorite guy although Casey is good but I think he belongs on the cover of a romance noval, he does have talent. I am glad they got rid of no talent Tim last week it was about time.
What Terri said! Lol!
Kristi - Everyone seems so nice, so I can't dislike any of them, but I am underwhelmed with big Mike and a few others.
Terri - You are singing my song, girl. Every week I sit and listen and this is what I hear:
"You didn't make it current or your own." - "You shouldn't change that song. It's already perfect."
"You need to be original." - "Every week you do something different, so I don't know who you are." - "Every week you do the same thing and never anything different."
Essentially, the judges have ZERO to say if someone is good and ready to record an album. Bottom line. And they make up some negative when there isn't one that no one can comply with.
Unless someone can figure out how to be current and unique without changing the song and know who they are without being the same.
God, I've confused myself! :)
Virginia - see, I kinda liked Tim's voice sometimes. And he's got a very marketable look for the young kids these day. But I don't think he would have ever broken the top five. I think Aaron needs to go next - already needed to go, actually.
Gemma - no shit, right!? :)
Hi Jana!
I love American Idol but this past season just has been kind of boring for me. I like when the contestants sing songs that I know and alot of the songs I've never heard before.
Lee is my favorite. He's humble, gorgeous and a great singer. I would LOVE for him to win.
Hi Rachel! I agree that sometimes I don't know the songs, especially the old ones. It makes it hard to judge if they were any good and certainly hard to determine if they changed it. lol
I really like Lee, too, and yes, he's got gorgeous eyes. A very marketable look, I would think.
I agree with you except I'm not a fan of Casey.
But catslady, he's so pretty! :)
