And, oh my gosh! The beach! It was amazing! Now, I've seen the ocean before. I've been to Hawaii, but that was a long time ago. And the California beaches did not disappoint.
The kids and I also did touristy things:
We went to Hollywood.
We did the zoo.
We saw Mickey
And now that we're back home, I'm already planning the next vacation.Next year the RWA National Conference is in Atlanta. I don't think I'm gonna be able to wait a whole year for another getaway.
Where did you vacation this year? Anyone else out there making plans for next year already?

I'm jealous! It sounds like you had a great trip!
I have a question about the Calamity Jayne series on Kindle. Will Calamity Jayne Goes to College be available on the Kindle? It's listed, but the listing says "This title is not available for customers from: United States". I'm hooked on the series and want to finish it! I also could not find any other way to contact you.
Thanks!
Hi Nicole!
I have been in contact with Amazon numerous times regarding the Kindle edition of CALAMITY JAYNE GOES TO COLLEGE and they are still trying to figure out the issue. For some reason, several weeks ago, the Kindle Edition disappeared and now the listing shows a copyright and pricing problem which does not exist. I've taken the book down and republished it several times, but keep having the same issue.
Amazon assures me they are working on the problem, but unfortunately, as of today, it's still in Kindle limbo. Thank you for alerting me to the problem. I contacted them the same day you emailed me.
P.S. I'm glad you like the series!
It was fabulous seeing you, too, Christie!
Nicole,
If you email your address to me at kathybacus at gmail.com I will snail mail you a copy of the second book.

I spent the last week of July in California too. I went to visit my sister, but timed it so we could go to the RWA Literacy signing. We had a blast there, plus we visited the Getty Villa (Museum) in Malibu, the Cleopatra exhibit at the California Science Center, SeaWorld San Diego and we even went to the circus. I'm already researching what we're going to do on my next visit. :D
