Let the Sales Begin

My mom and dad came to our house on Saturday and were nice enough to take boxes of old Christmas decor from my garage. I went stylized color a couple of years ago and am getting rid of all my old traditional red/green/gold/etc. Now, everything is turquoise and silver. Very pretty.

So since my dad and husband were off at the driving range, we decided to make rounds shopping for deals. Of course, everyone has their Christmas stuff out already and I couldn't help but pick up a couple of bargains at 40% off.

So first up is a little tree:

And then I found these fabulous, sparkly deer. How cute are they?

I am going to have a turquoise and silver sparkly house come December. The only down-side is timing. So if I start the beginning of November and leave it up until February-ish, that's okay, right? It's really a shame to do all that pretty decorating for only a month. Besides, the cats love hiding under the tree.

What about you? Do you do a big decorating push for Christmas? Been out to some early sales, yet?

I use the same stuff year in and year out. A few years back I did a major purge, so now I only have the really nice things. I'm not big into decorating and it ALWAYS comes down New Year's Day. But, I have to say, the turquoise/silver theme looks really nice.

My husband and I did the very same thing. We are handing down our traditional decorations to my daughter. In memory of my mother, I put up a white 6 foot tree with silver and royal blue decorations.

kris - I love the turquoise and silver. Maybe you should consider a revamp - go purple and pink or something really bright and fun. :)

We usually pick up one new ornament a year. I prefer sparse decorations, but still have kids who would rather the Christmas tree looks like it'll fall under the weight up the ornaments. *g* (Well, my teen Daughter is more like me. My nine year old Son would rather cover every branch. *g*)

Brandy - well, that's simple, you get two trees. One for each child. :)
