Winners and corsets

Hey all, I have a confession to make: I am not smooth. No kidding, you say? Hey, that's not nice. I try. I do. Even still, it has come to my attention that I neglected to announce the winner from my "best first lines" giveaway. I read all the entries, thought, "wow - these are really great," picked the winner and then promptly forgot to post again.

To complicate matters, it seems that our winner is not telepathic. So I shall announce it once and for all - Michele L, you've got it. Just email me at angie @angie fox.com, pass along your snail mail and let me know which of the accidental demon slayer books you'd like.

Speaking of fun things, this weekend was Archon, one of the best Sci Fi and Fantasy conventions I've ever attended. It's big, but not too big, so that you get a chance to mingle with a lot of people...and get into a bit of trouble too.

This year, the trouble started in the dealer room. They had a corset vendor who was out of this world helpful. Now I've been flirting with the idea of getting a corset for the past several years, but have never pulled the trigger. It's so hard to know what will fit and how to order one and every time I tried to research these things, I got intimidated.

Enter Draconian Creations. They caught my friend Shawntelle and I oogling their wares and the rest was history. We were able to try on the pretty things. They told us how to get the right fit (which involved a bit of sucking in breath and contorting, but thankfully, no grabbing onto bed posts). Most importantly, the pretties didn't cost an arm and a leg. After much modeling and mutual encouragement, Shawntelle and I both bought our first corsets. Mine will look like the one in the pictures. Hers will be purple with black stripes.

We're so excited, we're thinking we have to wear them as soon as they arrive. This may involve a corseted trip to Target, Hobby Lobby or some other exotic location, considering those are the places Shawntelle and I tend to visit the most. Then again, that's another blog post.

Love the corsets! On an annual shopping trip with friends, we ventured into a trashy store with a lovely display of corsets. My friends convinced me to buy a pink and black number complete with stockings, garters and CFM pumps. Needless to say it was a big hit with my darling hubby. Plus it makes me look really hot (not really the norm)!

The corsets are cute! I think the steampunk craze is bringing them back the most/best.

Ooh...I want one! But like you, I'd have a difficult time getting up the nerve to find the right fit.

Love yours though!

Robin :)

I've always wanted a corset, but like you find the procedure and cost intimidating.

You look AWESOME though!! If I could look as great as you do in one, I'd plunk down the credit card right now!

The corsets are amazing! I don't think I could wear one though.
