Happy Halloween!!!!!

Today's the day of ghosts and goblins and even more important, marathon television runs of horror movies! I'm not actually doing anything for Halloween - after all, it is a work day (and the worst day - Monday), I don't have kids, and my neighborhood is sorta quiet. bah humbug

But in keeping with my normal Halloween tradition, I did see a scary movie this past weekend. I saw Paranormal Activity 3. So here's the skinny; I didn't think it was all that scary. Mind you, I have never once actually been scared by a movie, but I know creepy when I see it. IMHO part 3 is not as creepy as either 1 or 2. Part 3 took us back to the sister's childhood, supposedly to explain how the demon (or whatever) came to start haunting them. There's a HUGE gap left in between when the demon shows up and how they get to adulthood. I suppose if they continue to make money on this story, there will be a Paranormal Activity 4-68. Another complaint I have is that the cool things shown on the coming attractions were not in the movie. WTH? So they use stuff to draw you in that isn't even in the final cut? What is that - the Hollywood version of bait and switch?

Anyway, it was all right, but not the best creepy I've seen, which was very disappointing as I haven't seen a good horror movie in forever. I guess I'm going to have to break out my own collection.

What about you? Do you do anything special for Halloween?

On Halloween, when the weather is good (which is virtually every year here in Texas), we sit in our driveway and watch all the action on the street and hand out candy from lawn chairs. I still love carving pumkins, too, even though pulling out all the inside gunk really grosses me out.

You know, I have never carved a pumpkin. Seriously. I guess I should some day, right? Might shop-vac the inside..... :)

We usually turn the lights off (my concrete front steps going up a huge hill are breaking apart and slowly sliding down said hill--a lawsuit waiting to happen) so we discourage trick-or-treaters. Even when we put a sign out to come around back, no one did. We usually curl up with the whole family, make a huge batch of caramel corn (I have an easy recipe if anyone wants it) and watch a good movie. I'm thinking Sherlock Holmes. tonight. I just love Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Our family has a pumpkin carving party every year which is loads of fun. At the moment the youngest is 24 and the oldest 89 lol.

I want to recommend a movie to you - Fire in the Sky. It's the only movie that has really scared me because it's suppose to be based on fact. It's an alien abduction.

Robin - sounds really nice, except for the Sherlock Holmes movie part. I was underwhelmed, and I'm a RDJ fan, too. Hopefully, your mileage will be better!

catslady - I saw that movie and it was pretty good. I love alien stuff as much as I love horror.

Have you watched the Ancient Aliens show?

I went and saw Paranormal Activity 3 this weekend too. I went alone and it totally freaked me out. I haven't seen 1 & 2 so the ending confused me a little.

Then I went home and watched made for tv movies about ghosts and possession. My husband and daughter were gone this weekend so I was freaked out all night long.
