Announcements, Announcements, Announcements!

Had an AWESOME time with Killer Kathy Bachus in Montezuma for the All Iowa Writer's Conference. Her presentation was great and she was so organized! She made sense compared to my rambling like a lunatic (something I tend to do too often). I think I even acted out the scene where I have to break my dead iguana in half in order to bury him.

Kathy's son Erick is ADORABLE! Did you know Montezuma, Iowa is known for it's monument to the Bill of Rights? Do you know what the Bill of Rights is without wiki-ing it (like I did)? And that's just sad, because I was a poli-sci major.

Paris Bombay's novella is coming soon! It's with an editor and will soon hit Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Smashwords. And may I just say - this book was a bitch. How do you write a book with a perfectly nice guy in it? You can't change him or show any growth because he's not an arrogant ass in the beginning.

I can't tell you who gets Paris in the end. You just have to read the damn thing. When it's out. Which should be soon. I hope.

In other news, I've decided to grow out my gray hair. Just for the hell of it (something I do a lot). I've always been a bit restless where my hair is concerned. I'm kind of curious to see what I actually look like.

What's interesting is how so many people are telling me not to do it. Don't you know (or maybe you always suspected) that the more you tell me I can't or shouldn't do something - the more I want to do it? Besides, it's just hair. And once I grow it out, I may go back to coloring it. Maybe blue next time. So here's some pictures - and I'll keep you updated.

I should mention that I have not told Mom I'm doing this. Yes, I'm 45 and afraid of my 5'1" mother. In fact, last weekend at my daughter's cross country meet, I wore a hat so she wouldn't notice. Why? She threw a fit when my sister went gray. Now with me going gray - more silver really - she's gonna look weird with blonde hair with two gray-haired daughters (something I think will actually be quite hilarious).

So I'm not going to tell her. Not yet. She'll probably notice by Thanksgiving anyway. Mental note - have extra bottles of Two Buck Chuck on hand for T-giving.

Also a huge thanks to Teri for being my first ever beta reader for a book I once wrote but never published: THE ADULTERER'S UNOFFICIAL GUIDE TO FAMILY VACATIONS. I'll be taking her opinion very seriously, so it'll be her fault if no one ever sees it.

Ohhh, can't wait for Paris' story! love the title too!

Thanks Kris! I wanted that title for Dak's book, but my editor thought it was too obscure, so she went with the Captain and Tenille instead. I must admit - I was huge into C&T in the 70's, but may be the only one who really knows who they are.

Sadly, I am well versed in the Captain and Tennille!

We had Mom's Night Out this past weekend and saw the Legwarmer's, an 80's cover band. The majority of people there weren't even born in the 80's!!!!! I felt so OLD!!!!

I know exactly what you mean! I like that name - the Legwarmers!

I remember watching C&T on TV. I was a child. *cough*

Did you really just throw me under the bus at the end there. Or rather, threaten to throw me under the bus. Prepare to get feedback like "Needs more cowbell."

Work with that. o_^

Cannot WAIT for Paris' book! (I told Hellie I think you're going to kill me off. Strangely, I think that would be the coolest thing.)

LOL! You'll have to explain what "cowbell" is code for. I do not kill you off. I guarantee you'll like the ending. You and Sin both. And I remember the C&T tv show too. I was also (cough) a mere child.

So Paris gets his HEA with a couple of hot twins. (Twins in the way Devito & Arnold were twins.)

Interesting twist. LOL!

Now I'm imagining euphemisms for "needs more cowbell".

*LOL*

Leslie, she tells me I need more cowbell all the time. I tell her she needs to stop smoking weed before she reads my stuff.

Awesome on the hair!! :) Instead of a red fox, you'll be a grey (silver) fox--works for me! And you get to torture a parent in the meantime! BONUS!

This book better come out SOON. Like SOOOOOONNNNNNN.

Teri's smoking weed all the time???
Silver Fox...I like it!
Sooooon. I promise.

Terri Osburn said...

Right. *I'm* the one smoking weed. Though that would explain my snacking habits...

Leslie Langtry said...

I WISH that was the reason for my snacking habit...instead of, "Well, the food's just sitting there, mocking me..."

Can't wait for Paris' book! I was sooooo disappointed at the thought the series was ending, but TA-DA! You are back with a new one! Yay!

So is "Adulterer" going to be a novel? If so, when can I buy it? I want to read it just because of the title!

I'm so looking forward to Paris' story! As for C&T, yeah, I barely remember them...I was a mere baby. I do remember one summer when they were all you ever heard on the radio. I was at a bakery at the beach with my dad and told him that if I had to listen to Muskrat Love one more time, I was going to barf. It started playing and he took my Elephant Ear away from me and finished eating it.

Kima - Adulterer is a novel...I hope (winks at Terri). I'm thinking about a collection of stories about various Bombays through history to keep the series alive.

Robin,I felt the same way about Muskrat Love!
