It's very unfortunate as those sort of people give them all a bad name and there ARE a lot of good ones out there. I will tell my friend to look into it. In fact, they aren't even supposed to say "have a nice day" when they are done with you because it can be taken as being sarcastic. I would take the ticket to court and complain to the judge. I might even go so far as to discuss this with the mayor and-or police chief. This officer needs to learn some manners and decency.LuAnnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13049897327581610278noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4542417548623715196.post-15884003929126756232009-05-25T16:21:34.927-05:002009-05-25T16:21:34.927-05:00I can see needing to know the age of the car, but ...I can see needing to know the age of the car, but her weight? Too odd.
We live in a small town that is trying to represent itself as a small city. HA, right. She pulled a friend of mine over while I was in the vehicle and insisted he hadn't used his blinker and I said that he had. And he had. I was watching to make sure because I know how bad they are out here. Anyway, she didn't like me telling the truth, especially when it contradicted her and ended up issuing a warning, BUT told my friend that in the future he should keep me quiet.

He said, "okay, next time she talks, I'll backhand her." Then he just rolled up the window and drove off.

I get the feeling she has a problem with women, in general, which is sorta weird given she is one. Even a non-car buff should be able to tell the difference, right? And a cop darn well ought to know. I used to date a Sheriff's Deputy and he had a sense of humor like that. Asking people totally off the wall questions. If people lie about their weight then they might be lying about something else as well. (Like the drugs in their pocket or the body stuffed in their trunk.)

I love "Click it or ticket weekends" here. There are 5 police departments here. (State, City, College, and 2 tribal.) So you can't turn a corner without running into one. There are signs for miles, the papers and the radio announce it for days, and the cops sit with their lights flashing and people still get caught without seat belts.Refhaterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09064218599795539844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4542417548623715196.post-70084419866442326332009-05-25T13:24:42.745-05:002009-05-25T13:24:42.745-05:00The age of the car matters if it was built before ...The age of the car matters if it was built before seat belts were standard equipment. Maybe they're putting together weird statistics like "these" people are more likely to not wear a seatbelt than "those" people (and then maybe they watch for "these" people thinking easy ticketing and lazy, I mean less, work for them).

Hmm. I really don't know. I know you're from the LA part of I-10 corridor like me and none of those police are known for, well, much of anything good.
