That part...Oh, that book sounds like a lot of fun!

That part of accounting does too. I like to see parts of people that don't normally show anyone else. Wait, that sounds reallllly bad... but I think you know what I mean.

When I was working at the prison, I never minded monitoring phone calls for officers or staff because it's like a peak at the human animal unfettered. Which isn't always a good thing, but it's not always a bad thing either.

Best of luck with your new book!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17774647553760700746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4542417548623715196.post-6858782172964724862010-10-25T13:32:48.941-05:002010-10-25T13:32:48.941-05:00I was a forensic accountant for several years and ...I was a forensic accountant for several years and investigated the financials and employees of potential commercial real estate purchases. ALL kind of things go on at commercial properties (office buildings, residential housing, malls). My review of the police reports was always the best part.

Unfortunately, I caught many, many people stealing. People are not very bright and risk losing their reputation and freedom over very small amounts of money. Sad, really.

Diane - I know you've got plenty to work with writing an IRS special agent. Can't wait to read the book.Jana DeLeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11351774231244304409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4542417548623715196.post-37662331489214717902010-10-25T12:50:33.408-05:002010-10-25T12:50:33.408-05:00Insurance for mistresses!?! And I'm with you, Christie - I wish there were a tax exemption for pets. A massage, no happy ending, is a requirement of the business. Romance novels, I'm reading for research--it's work.

CCChristie Craighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13838947086349600665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4542417548623715196.post-23533727487105932112010-10-25T10:03:19.328-05:002010-10-25T10:03:19.328-05:00I completely agree, Leslie. One of our clients had several files, there was the "family insurance file" and then one for each of his mistresses. In the event of his demise, he wanted to make sure they'd be well taken care of too.Robin Kayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16262933225938609682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4542417548623715196.post-38906351832282008692010-10-25T09:52:20.048-05:002010-10-25T09:52:20.048-05:00Yep, accounting has a dark underbelly. : )Yep, accounting has a dark underbelly. : )Diane Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06934612750269211608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4542417548623715196.post-16121444911543947752010-10-25T09:26:05.156-05:002010-10-25T09:26:05.156-05:00You know what?
