Things I like to do in summer:
-Drink beer that's teeth-cracking cold;
-Ignore my children from the comfort of my hammock (yes, I wear a sleep mask and my iPod earbuds - if I can't hear or see them, they don't need me);
-Watch my husband grill, every single night - if possible - wearing a loincloth (always possible, not always persuasive);
-Drink chardonnay that's teeth-cracking cold;
-Ignore my messy house by spending all my time in aforementioned hammock (Hint: the house doesn't look messy from the OUTSIDE);
-Drink Grey Goose & tonic that's teeth-cracking cold;
-Sleep with the windows open...though sometimes I don't notice because of everything I've had to drink;
-Camp from the comfort of a luxury hotel;
-Embarrass myself by playing the soundtrack from "Footloose" while I weed.
What do YOU like to do in the summer?

I like to go to the beach and/or pool. I also like to go to a resort somewhere where there is a beach and pool and I have to decide which one to use first.
I like your list. Although I'm not sure about all the booze and the teeth-cracking cold. That might mean a trip to the dentist, which would be a bad thing. I like to sit on my deck, people watch, and read a great deal. And sure, there's some alcohol involved, but I like the wine coolers (anything red), the Long Island iced teas, and the rum punches. The rum punches are a really good source of vitamins, and now, with those fruit fusion juices, you get a serving or two of vegetables out of it, too! Oh, and I find while reading a cozy mystery, a Mint Julep goes particularly well =).
You two are truly my soul sisters!
Really good list. And the loin clothes mean less laundry. Good planning.
Apparently, I like to turn my quiet and peaceful (kiddo is out of town) summers into utter chaos and mayhem. This summer was all about revising my first novel to pitch at Nationals, then sail through August on the request highs.
Then I decided to buy my own place. *sigh* Spent three weeks looking and just got my own condo as of last night. This means the next seven weeks are inspections and appraisals and initialling stuff and packing, packing, packing. All of this ALL BY MYSELF.
Did I mention this book I'm trying to revise? And where is the anus information?!
Wanna take a break from the kids and come help me out? You can do the revising while I pack. LOL!
Helping you pack WOULD be a vacation! You MUST keep me appraised of the pitch situation!
I'm a little too antsy to lie around in a hammock for long (though the idea appeals) but the booze and the Footloose soundtrack sound great :)
